Term 1

English

This term we have started exploring Poetry on a Theme. In this genre we will discuss, identify and use different literary devices including similes, rhyming and alliteration. We will use our skills to produce a poem on the theme of emotions.

Our guided reading text this term is the wonderful 'Greta and the Giants'.

We will continue to read a range of our own books both at home and at school. This will include regularly reading Monster Phonics books and/or completing a quiz on Accelerated Reader after each book. Each child is working towards their personalised reading target.

Remember points mean prizes! laugh
