Term 1
English
This term we have started exploring Poetry on a Theme. In this genre we will discuss, identify and use different literary devices including similes, rhyming and alliteration. We will use our skills to produce a poem on the theme of emotions.
Our guided reading text this term is the wonderful 'Greta and the Giants'.
We will continue to read a range of our own books both at home and at school. This will include regularly reading Monster Phonics books and/or completing a quiz on Accelerated Reader after each book. Each child is working towards their personalised reading target.
Remember points mean prizes!
Maths
In Term 1, we will develop our understanding of place value.
(Y3)
(Y4)
Every week, each child will complete homework tasks to practise their place value and number skills and knowledge.
PE
Our PE days are on Thursday and Friday with Mrs Annakie. Please ensure your kit is in school ready for your lessons.
If you have any questions or queries at any point during this term, please do not hesitate to contact us via the office.
Best wishes,
Mrs File, Mrs Annakie, Mrs Evans and Miss Weymouth
