Hello Year 5! Welcome to Week 6!
Time is flying and the summer holidays will be here before we know it! Your learning this week is on the overview below and the resources you need will be in the sub-pages (English, Maths, Science).
In English this week, our theme is 'Take One Book' and we have chosen the fantastic 'The Day the Crayons Quit.' It is a story about Duncan and his box of crayons, but the crayons are grumpy about how they are being treated, so they write him a letter of complaint! Haven't we all been a bit grumpy sometimes?
In Maths, you will learning about 3D Shapes, nets, cubed numbers, volume of objects and, of course, our weekly 'Number Fitness'.
Your science learning this week is all about 'Working Scientifically.' You will be completing some really exciting experiments, including soaring kites, soap powered boats, dancing ghosts and using skittles. Think about how to make your experiment a 'fair test. Enjoy experimenting and learn lots!
Don't forget to keep logging into purple mash - you can always choose your own activities on there or complete any 2dos. Keep practicing your spellings and maths using spelling shed, maths shed and times table rock stars. As ever, if you have any questions or need your passwords, let us know through the office. Finally, keep reading! Use oxford owl to find books to read.
Most importantly, keep smiling and stay safe!
