Counting in steps of 1, 2, 5 and 10.

Building on our part-part-whole understanding and partitioning to work out the answers to addition and subtraction questions.

Using mathematical vocabulary to support our reasoning skills.

Using words such as long, longer, longest, short, shorter and shortest and the same when comparing lengths and heights.

Using cms to measure length.


What could you do at home to support our learning?

  • Keep practical resources on hand to support learning.
  • Singing songs related to number and counting in 2s, 5s, 10s.
  • Get the children involved in practical activities that involve solving problems, reading numbers and measuring.
