In term 3 we will be...
extending our number knowledge of numbers to 50 and consolidating our understanding of place value so that we can recognise, count forwards and backwards from different starting points, identify missing numbers, know one more or one less than any given number. We will be using these skills to add and subtract in different contexts using a range of mathematical vocabulary to support our learning and reasoning skills. We will also be exploring measures of weight and length, linking some of this to our topic learning based around dinosaurs.
The children will continue to develop their reasoning skills to support their verbal explanations. We will be using 'convince me' and 'prove it' prompts to ensure the children are explaining their thinking and giving evidence to support answers they give.
