Term 5's Maths will be focused on activities that the children will be able to complete at home and shouldn't rely too heavily on parental support. We will be consolidating the children's knowledge of their learning from previous terms, with some practical activities using things around the house to support their understanding.
We will begin the term consolidating our learning of 'measures' which the children were studying before schools closed. There will be activities based around the mathematical language:
longer/shorter heavier/lighter more/less quicker/slower full/empty
We will continue to consolidate our understanding of numbers to 100, and keep practising our counting in 2s, 5s and 10s.
Later in the term, we will begin to look at telling the time so an analogue watch or clock would be really useful for this.
