Trip to the Common
Friday 13th September and Wednesday 9th October
Year 3 will be taking a short walk to The Common on Common Lane to begin their Tribal Tales topic on Friday 13th September. We will be going on an exploratory dig so the children will need to bring in old clothes and wellie boots (or old trainers) to get changed into. Children should wear their normal school uniform into school where they will get changed for their trip. We will be doing lots of digging so, if you have small hand held trowels for gardening at home, children can bring these in to use on our dig.
Our second visit to The Common will be on Wednesday 9th October where we will celebrate our learning to create tribal monuments. Children should again bring in old clothes and wellie boots to get changed into in school. School uniform should be worn as they come in to school.
For both trips to go ahead, we need a small number of parent helpers to support us. We will be leaving just after 9am and returning to school for 11 o’clock on both days. Please speak directly to either Miss Bray or Miss Hamilton if you are able to support us.
Stone Age Day
Wednesday 18th September
To immerse ourselves in life in the Stone Age, year 3 will be taking part in a Stone Age Day. We are asking children to create their own stone age costumes for this to wear for the day. They may come in to school in their costumes. Some ideas are: anything with animal print or old brown/grey/black clothes. You could take a look at Pinterest for more ideas of home-made costumes. If you need any help to create your costume, please speak directly to Miss Bray or Miss Hamilton.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to talk to any of the Year 3 team.
Thank you for your continued support.
