Webber Class – Year 5/6

Welcome to Webber Class

Year 5 and 6

Welcome back to a new term!

We hope you had a great half term and are ready to come back to school for another fun filled term. Last term, the children showed great attitude to their learning and showcase some brilliant work. We look forward for this to continue in the term ahead.

Our topic for our learning this term is: 'Up, up and away'.

The children will use this topic as an enquiry based approach in which they will be able to explore and investigate different pioneers and explorers. At the end of this term, we will be inviting parents and carers of Webber class, to show case the children's investigation and understanding of the topic.

English: This term we will continue to read 'Stormbreaker', which the children all seem to really enjoy. In Guided Reading, we will be reviewing 'The Explorer' by Katherine Rundell. Children will be able to review the authors language and it will be a gateway to a variety of writing opportunities.

Maths: Firstly, we will be reviewing our understanding of division, what it means and how we can apply it to everyday life. Later in the term, we will be reviewing different types of graphs and statistics, by creating our own and understanding their differences. We will continue to recap our four operations through weekly group check and continue with our Time Table Rockstars -which can still be accessed at home!

PE, this term, will be on a Thursday and a Friday. Please make sure that your children have their PE Kits in on these days.

If you have any questions or queries, please come and talk to us.
