Webber Class – Year 5/6

Welcome to Webber Class

Year 5 and 6

Welcome back to a new term!

We hope you had a great half term and are ready to come back to school for another fun filled term. Last term, the children showed great attitude to their learning and showcase some brilliant work. We look forward for this to continue in the term ahead.

Our topic for our learning this term is: How did the Ancient Greeks change the world?

The children will use this topic as an enquiry based approach in which they will be able to explore and investigate how the Ancient Greeks influenced the way in which we live, such as through sporting and politics.

English: This term we will be reading a variety of genres in order to gain a deeper understanding of their features. We will be using our range of texts to explore a variety of written genres and applying our high-level punctuation across.

Maths: Firstly, we will continue our understanding of fractions and reviewing their equivalence to decimals and percentages. Pupils will be applying their understanding of FDP (fractions, decimals and percentages) to a range of problem solving and enquiry based lessons. Later in the term, pupils will be exploring how to use a protractor to find the size of an angle and reviewing how to find a missing angle.

PE, this term, will be on a Thursday and a Friday. Please make sure that your children have their PE Kits in on these days.

If you have any questions or queries, please come and talk to us.
