Welcome back! We hope that you all and the children had a restful Easter and that the children are ready to get back to learning with us.
Our new topic for this coming term is 'Are you wild at heart?' This term we are going on an adventure through the mighty continent of Africa! We will be exploring some of the hardships faced by rural communities, the harsh environments people and animals face in the desert, as well as exploring and using a range of different traditional African tales.
In Maths, the focus will be on money, statistics and time. As always the focus will be on developing our reasoning skills through mathematical explanation.
PE, this term, will continue be on a Tuesday and now also on a Friday afternoon. Please make sure that kits are in school on these days. However, it would be helpful to have PE kits in school throughout the week, as occasionally we may have to change arrangements due to the weather.
Please continue to read regularly at home with your children, with the focus being on talking about what the children are reading and asking them questions about what they have read.
We appreciate the support you are giving the children with their home learning , they are producing some outstanding work. We hope the children are enjoying choosing their own home learning and developing a variety of learning attributes whilst doing so. As last term, the children will be expected to complete a home learning task each week and to bring this home learning to school every Wednesday. We would also like the children to have a real focus on learning their times tables as well.
We look forward to a busy term of learning. Please don't hesitate to come and speak to us if you have any questions or queries.
