Rowling Class - Year 3/4

Welcome back! We hope that you all had a fabulous christmas and that the children are ready to get back to learning with us.

We have a big change in topic for this term, our new topic is called ' What does it mean to be super?'

We will using fictional superheroes to inspire our writing and also learning about real life superheroes .We will be learning all about sound in Science and digital creativity in Computing. All of our learning across the curriculum will be linked to our exciting new topic.

In Maths, we will be solving problems to further develop and build upon our knowledge of multiplication and division, length and perimeter and area . As always the focus will be on developing our reasoning skills through mathematical explanation.

PE, this term, will continue be on a Tuesday and Swimming will be on a Monday afternoon. Please make sure that kits are in school on these days. However,  it would be helpful to have PE kits in school throughout the week, as occasionally we may have to change arrangements due to the weather.

Please continue to read regularly at home with your children, with the focus being on talking about what the children are reading and asking them questions about what they have read.

The children will be expected to complete a home learning task each week, as last term. They will bring this home learning to school every Wednesday. We hope the children are enjoying choosing their own home learning and developing a variety of learning attributes whilst doing so.

We look forward to a busy term of learning. Please don't hesitate to come and speak to us if you have any questions or queries.
