Welcome back! We hope that you all and the children had a restful half term and that the children are ready to get back to learning with us.
Our new topic for this coming term is ' Could it be magic?' Our class text will be 'The Worst Witch' and we will be using this to inspire our writing .We will be learning all about light in Science and text and graphics in Computing. All of our learning across the curriculum will be linked to our exciting new topic.
In Maths, we will continue learning about fractions . The focus will be on identifying equivalent fractions and adding and subtracting fractions. As always the focus will be on developing our reasoning skills through mathematical explanation.
PE, this term, will continue be on a Tuesday and now also on a Friday afternoon,as swimming has now finished. Please make sure that kits are in school on these days. However, it would be helpful to have PE kits in school throughout the week, as occasionally we may have to change arrangements due to the weather.
Please continue to read regularly at home with your children, with the focus being on talking about what the children are reading and asking them questions about what they have read.
We appreciate the support you are giving the children with their home learning , they are producing some outstanding work. We hope the children are enjoying choosing their own home learning and developing a variety of learning attributes whilst doing so. As last term, the children will be expected to complete a home learning task each week and to bring this home learning to school every Wednesday. We would also like the children to have a real focus on learning their times tables as well.
We look forward to a busy term of learning. Please don't hesitate to come and speak to us if you have any questions or queries.
