Rowling Class - Year 3/4

UPDATE - Have a look at Lucas Class Page for pictures of our joint Share a Class session, our recent DT day and our fabulous trip to The Roman Painted House and Dover Castle!

Welcome back! We hope that you all had a lovely week off and that the children are ready to get back to learning with us.

Last term we were learning about the everyday life of a Roman. This term we are focusing on Romans as invaders and settlers. We will be linking all our learning to this topic. We will also be using this topic to inspire our writing over the next term .

In Maths, we will be solving problems to develop and build upon our knowledge of the four operations: addition, subtraction, multiplication and division. As always the focus will be on developing our reasoning skills through mathematical explanation.

PE, this term, will continue be on a Tuesday and Friday. Please make sure that kits are in school on these days. However,  it would be helpful to have PE kits in school throughout the week, as occasionally we may have to change arrangements due to the weather.

Please continue to read regularly at home with your children, with the focus being on talking about what the children are reading and asking them questions about what they have read.

The children will be expected to complete a home learning task each week, as last term. They will bring this home learning to school every Wednesday. We hope the children are enjoying choosing their own home learning and developing a variety of learning attributes whilst doing so.

We look forward to a busy term of learning. Please don't hesitate to come and speak to us if you have any questions or queries.
