Potter - Foundation / Year 1

Welcome to Beatrix Potter class - Foundation/Year 1!

Hope you had a great holiday with lots of learning opportunities. It is great to see the children excited  and ready to learn. This term we will be learning about Our Wonderful Bodies. We will be naming parts of our body and making skeletons. We will also be thinking about our bodies move and how to keep healthy.At home have a chat how our bodies change when we exercise.

Year R

Within Mathematical development we will be taking part in lots of problem solving activities involving counting and creating sets. Perhaps have a look for numbers in the environment e.g  bus numbers, house numbers.

Year One

In Numeracy  we will be learning  number bonds to ten and lots of  problem solving activities. Please continue to count at home to 100. Everyday we will  count in 2's, 5's and 10's.

 

P.E

We will be doing PE on Monday and Thursdays so can you please make sure PE kits are in school.

 

 

Homework

Homework will go out on a Friday and marked  on Wednesdays.  These are activities to do with your child, so please enjoy and have fun!

 

                                                                                               Reading

We would encourage children to read or listen to a story everyday.

Year R

 We aim to  change  books on a Monday, Wednesday and Friday, we  will also check home contact books each day.

Year One

Books will be changed as  needed.
