River Primary Forest School - Year 4

Year 4 will be having sessions in our whole school forest school throughout the year. Along with year 5 and 6, we will be working towards achieving the Discover Award.

Undertaking the award each student will need to complete four challenges -

Discover a wild place – Students will be shown the area and have the freedom to discover all of the different areas within the forest.

Explore it - students will have the opportunity to explore the area and learn about the different type of trees and animals that live in this environment.

• Conserve it – Conserving the newly planted trees, as well as the Forest School Area.

Share it – This will be done both in the classroom where all of the student’s families will be invited to come and see what has been achieved date to be confirmed.

As part of this, we will also be learning about the life and work of conservationist John Muir.
