Dahl class .
We hope you had an enjoyable week off and that the children are ready to get back to work.
Our new topic for term 6 will be ' Summer Tournaments'. We will be linking all our learning to this new and exciting topic.
In Maths we will be developing our knowledge and understanding of fractions and writing decimal equivalents. Alongside this we will be comparing, ordering and rounding decimals.
We will also be enhancing our story writing skills in English and continuing with our States of Matter topic in science.
We will be doing PE this term on a Tuesday and Thursday. Please make sure that kits are in school on these days, however, it would be helpful to have PE kits in school throughout the week as occasionally we may have to change arrangements due to weather.
Please continue to read regularly at home with your children, talking about what they are reading. Children will have spelling rules and spellings to be practising during the week, along with times tables and their division facts.
Homework will be set on a Friday and we would like it to be returned by the following Wednesday. You will find details of the homework tasks on this class page.
Please feel free to catch any of us on the playground if you have any questions or concerns; we would be happy to help. We look forward to working with you and your children this year.

Here are some links that you may find useful to help reinforce learning at home. We will add to this list as we go through the year. If you find any useful resources, that we have missed , that you feel others would benefit from, please let us know.
We have had a great start to the year. We celebrated Roald Dahl on Tuesday .As well as studying some of Dahl's books , we had great fun making our own disgusting Mr Twit beards and we enjoyed taking part in an online workshop teaching us to draw in the style of Quentin Blake. Please come into school and have a look at some of our work on display board in reception.
